The Maine Wedding Barn at Farview Farm

The Venue

Since 2012, more than 250 weddings and events have taken place here, with each one adding something unique to our history.

Special Touches

A historic Maine wedding barn, thoughtfully restored

Long before anyone walked down an aisle here, Farview Farm was a working dairy farm. The upper barn, now home to dinner tables, speeches and dancing, once held roughly 20,000 bales of hay. You can feel that history in the old timber, the high ceilings, and the generous scale of the room.

We’re Barbara and John, and we began restoring the barn in 2012. We preserved the character and craftsmanship of the old dairy loft while introducing the lighting, drapery, amenities and practical comforts a modern wedding needs.

Gardens, fields and Western Maine mountain views

Step outside the barn and the landscape opens across the gardens and fields toward the Western Maine mountains. Mount Washington is visible when the weather allows. More than 100 acres of countryside and woodland surround the venue, creating a peaceful, private setting for your special day.

The lawn and white gazebo provide the main outdoor ceremony setting, with the mountain ridge stretching behind them. The Bridal Farmhouse sits just steps from the barn and offers a separate getting-ready space, with access based on your package. Everything is close enough for the day to move naturally from getting ready to the ceremony, photographs and reception.

The light across the property changes throughout the day. Couples use the gardens for family photographs, the edges of the fields for a quiet first look and the open landscape for portraits around sunset. In autumn, the nearby trees and distant hills turn red, orange and gold.

The venue feels tucked away in the Maine countryside, while Lewiston-Auburn and its hotels are only a few minutes away.

A beautiful reception space for up to 175 guests

The scale of the barn is one of the first things you notice as you enter the building. High wooden ceilings and original timbers give the room its character, while white ceiling drapery and warm lighting create an elegant, welcoming atmosphere.

The barn can seat up to 175 guests while preserving plenty of room for the dance floor and comfortable movement around the tables. Round and rectangular dinner tables, high-top cocktail tables, soft ceiling lighting, white chairs and white linens are included through the venue. The open layout gives you flexibility for your seating plan, music and the atmosphere you want to create.

The licensed bar and ADA-accessible restrooms are located on the main level. The barn also provides practical catering access and designated space for a DJ, live band or stage.

Your ceremony and reception in one place

You can exchange vows on the lawn with the gazebo and mountains behind you or choose the field for a more open setting. If Maine weather changes the plan, the ceremony can move into the barn.

Every option is right here on the property. Your guests arrive, settle in and move easily from the ceremony to drinks, dinner and dancing. There is no second location to find and no need to get back into the car halfway through the celebration.

Experience behind the scenes

After more than a decade of hosting weddings, we understand how the practical parts of the day fit together. We know where vendors can work comfortably, how long a room change takes, where a DJ or band should set up and when a weather decision needs to be made. That experience helps us anticipate any potential hiccups and keep the day moving, without interruptions.

Soft ceiling lighting, tables, chairs, white linens, setup and cleanup, parking attendants, licensed bar service and on-site day-of coordination are included. We prepare the venue carefully for every wedding and stay close throughout the day, leaving you free to enjoy it with your partner, family and friends.

Weddings and other gatherings

Weddings are a large part of what we do, and the barn also welcomes anniversary parties, birthday celebrations, celebrations of life, reunions, baby showers, business meetings and smaller conferences. Tell us what you are planning, your approximate guest count and what the event will need. We can talk through the layout, timing, catering, bar service and what is included.

Come and experience the venue

Photos can capture the views and introduce you to the barn, but a private tour gives you a much better sense of the space and surrounding ares. You can walk through the gardens, stand where ceremonies are held, visit the Bridal Farmhouse and see how the different parts of the property come together.

We’d love to show you around, answer your questions and hear what you are imagining for your day.
